Let’s set the table here. The Lakers were playing the Pistons in the NBA finals like a million years ago and, as the story goes, then-Laker coach Pat Riley didn’t like how close Magic and Isaiah were. And he didn’t want their fraternal deal to make the rest of the Lakers think that Magic was soft. So Riley asked Magic what he planned on doing about it.
