Thoughts: Guarantano is one of the first names Tennessee fans will turn to after the Kendall news and, as you can see in the embedded tweet, Butch Jones has turned up the heat. Is Tennessee in the running? Absolutely. Is it fair to say that the Vols are the favorites for him immediately? Probably not right now. But even when Kendall was committed, the coaching staff laid the foundation for his recruitment, keeping tabs on him, visiting him and getting him on campus last summer. This isn’t a situation where they’ll have to get in the race. They’re already in it. But Ohio State has a lot of momentum, and with the QB success the Buckeyes have had recently, it’s hard to pick against them. Rutgers is also in the picture and has some home-field advantage. He has fantastic size, a cannon arm and great athleticism for the position as well. There’s a reason he’s one of the top overall QBs in this class and a reason the Vols will go after him hard, but he’ll be a tough pull.
