Temperatures in the Knoxville area that have barely been above 40 degree the past few weeks don’t exactly have many people thinking about jumping in the water this time of year.
But the Tennessee football team did it on Sunday anyhow, albeit for a good cause – raising funds and awareness for the Tennessee Special Olympics – an organization the football team has worked with in the past.
“This event raises funds for local Special Olympics Programs and raises awareness about the power of Special Olympics through hosting unique experiences with music, food and most of all fun,” according to the Special Olympics’ officail website. “Participants take the plunge into oceans, bays, local lakes and even pools with ice to show their support of Special Olympics.”
