Special Teams
New additions: P Tommy Townsend, LS Riley Lovingood, K Laszlo Toser (walk-on)
Daniel: Some may question using two scholarships on specialists, but the Vols, especially at punter, really had no choice. Townsend is one of the best in the nation and comes in as the favorite to start next year. Lovingood, also among the best at his position in the nation, can potentially redshirt for one season and then be the starting long snapper for four years after Matt Giampapa moves on. Toser, a Mr. Football award winner, adds depth at kicker. Grade: A
Houston: Townsend is one of the pest punters in the country and the Vols will need him to be their immediate answer there in 2015. Riley Lovingood won’t arrive with much fanfare, but he is a player of need for Tennessee that will likely start at long snapper for many years. The Vols are set with Aaron Medley for the next three years at kicker, but a redshirt for Toser could give him two years as the guy after Medley moves on. Tennessee filled needs on special teams in this class. Grade: A
