Tennessee’s 6’8 true freshman Willie Carmichael has been on the bench for most of the first half against Georgia after picking up three quick fouls, but he made sure to get the Vols off to a fiery start on the offensive end of the floor with an early posterization of Georgia big-man Nemanja Djurisic. Carmichael slipped towards the basket after setting a perfect screen at the top of the key, and Josh Richardson was able to get him the ball in rhythm allowing for the easy slam over Djurisic – who ended up on the floor.
These two points were all that Carmichael would manage to score in the first half – as he clearly went for quality over quantity – and the Vols currently trail the Bulldogs 29-22 at halftime in Athens.
Our condolences to the Djurisic family.
