RTI’s Take:
Daniel: The Vols hadn’t signed a Rivals.com five-star offensive lineman since 2002. That changed on Wednesday when the Vols flipped the long-time Ole Miss commitment, giving Tennessee the elite high school offensive lineman signee that Butch Jones hasn’t been able to bring in since arriving at Tennessee. From a physical standpoint, Richmond is college ready. He’s at least 6-foot-5 and is in the 310-320 range. He has immense potential and athleticism. He maybe isn’t as technically sound as somebody like Jack Jones in this class, but look for the coaches to push him hard this summer to see if he can be a factor at tackle as soon as 2015.
Houston: Much like Boulware, Richmond is full of potential at the offensive tackle position, but has some work to do before he’s ready to consistently compete at an SEC level. He has the prototype body, but will have to increase his strength levels and refine his technique if he wants to be as good as he can be. The coaches will give Richmond every opportunity to earn his way onto the field, and it will be very interesting to see how he responds when he arrives for fall camp.
