RTI’s Take:

Daniel: In many respects, Kamara is one of the most important recruits in this class. The top-ranked junior college running back won’t be a starter necessarily, but being the second back in the SEC means a lot of work, and it looks like that’s the role that Kamara, a former Alabama RB, will fill. The Vols need him to be as good as advertised. Jalen Hurd is the only returning scholarship running back on campus.

Houston: Kamara is the real deal. I think he has a very unique and impressive skill set that should compliment Jalen Hurd perfectly in Tennessee’s rushing attack in 2015. Kamara has the ability to run around, over or through defenders, while also having that extra gear to break the long run. I expect him to get plenty of carries in 2015 as the coaches do all they can to keep he and Jalen Hurd fresh.

Reed: Alvin Kamara might hold the keys to Tennessee’s 2015 season. If he can add another dimension to the ground game and help take the burden off Dobbs and Hurd, the Vols will be very, very tough to stop on offense. He has big play ability but can also grind out some tough yards. He has to stay healthy and contribute in a big way for 2015 to be a successful year for the Vols.
