RTI’s Take:

Daniel: His injury history brings some level of concern, but Dormady will be in the mix to back up Joshua Dobbs as soon as 2015 with no other scholarship quarterbacks returning to the roster. He has a good frame, good instincts and throws a very accurate, catchable ball in his high school film. He’ll need to add some bulk and work on his velocity, but this son of a coach should pick up the offense quickly and compete for that second-string role quickly in Knoxville.

Houston: As Daniel mentioned, the shoulder injury suffered during his junior season has apparently lingered for Dormady, and that is concerning for Dormady and his development at quarterback. Tennessee needs to create some depth at quarterback and they need Dormady 100-percent healthy in order to get a good look at him in spring practice. If he can get healthy, he is my pick to be second on the depth chart at the start of the 2015 season.

Reed: After running a very similar offense in high school last season, Dormady should be ahead of his competition with his grasp of Tennessee’s playbook. He has perhaps the most developed arm of the QBs in the 2015 Vol class. If he can stay healthy, he’ll definitely compete for the No. 2 QB spot.
