Current Role: Offensive coordinator/QBs coach NC State
The connection: There are no direct ties between Canada and Jones, but he did work with Zach Azzanni at Wisconsin in 2012
Pros: Canada has a lot of what Jones is looking for – play-calling experience, he can immediately step into the role of quarterbacks coach, and his current system at NC State has a lot of the elements that Jones runs in his offense. He had a fair amount of success developing mobile quarterback Jacoby Brissett, a Florida transfer, in NC State’s offense in 2014.
Cons/Questions: Jones and Canada have never worked together and there aren’t a ton of connections between the two. Canada’s offense was statistically average in 2014, coming in right in the middle of the pack in total and scoring offense.
