Status
Wanogho was originally expected to be a member of the 2016 recruiting class, but was recently reclassified to the 2015 class, sending many schools into scramble-mode in an attempt to get him to campus. Tennessee’s early work in the 2015 class has allowed them extra time and energy to devote to his recruitment – another credit to Butch Jones and his staff – and will likely earn a visit from him before he makes his decision. Wanogho had already planned to make his decision after National Signing Day, but a recent broken leg suffered during a basketball game will likely push his timetable back even further. While the injury was significant, doctors announced that it was a clean break and that they expect him to be fully recovered by May.

 Outlook

While he would certainly classify as a project at the next level, Wanogho’s speed and athleticism matched with his 6’8 frame is off the charts. He is deceptively strong, incredibly fast and plays a very physical brand of football. He doesn’t have the quickest first step at the snap of the ball, but that’s to be expected when you consider that he’s only been playing football for the last seven months. With proper coaching and physical development, he is a player that could be an absolute force at the collegiate level and beyond at defensive end.
