Why: The Vols didn’t have the luxury of redshirting every newcomer on the offensive line as they might’ve liked to, but Raulerson, who was a third-string option at center behind Mack Crowder and Dylan Wiesman, was able to take a developmental season to add some size.
Future Outlook: Of the 32 newcomers last year, Raulerson may have had the furthest to go physically. He’s listed at 278 pounds on the roster right now, and while SEC offensive linemen don’t necessarily have to be way over 300 pounds, especially at center, a little more size will be need before he can be considered for playing time. He’s not getting a lot of discussion for next year at this point, but sometimes a second-year player makes a surprising jump, so nothing can be ruled out.
