Oklahoma-111. UT can’t hang with Oklahoma on the road

While the young UT team was praised for battling on the road for much of the game against the perceived national championship contenders, this loss actually looked worse as the season wore on. Oklahoma looked more mediocre than elite the rest of the season on its way to an underachieving 8-5 mark that concluded with a blowout loss to Clemson in the Russell Athletic Bowl. The Vols couldn’t block the Sooners up front, especially outside linebacker Eric Striker, who regularly harassed Worley and ended the game with a pair of sacks. The defense, again, kept the Vols competitive, but a late pick-6 for the Sooners ended UT’s chances of any kind of late comeback in a 34-10 loss in Norman.
