3. Butch Jones inks highly-ranked “Legacy Class”
Tennessee had signed highly-ranked recruiting classes in the past. But it’s difficult to remember one as anticipated as this one as Jones retooled his roster by adding 32 signees, several of which were legacy players who had relatives that also played at UT such as Todd Kelly Jr., Evan and Elliott Berry, Dillon Bates and more. The class was ranked around fifth in the nation by the various recruiting services and included five-stars running back Jalen Hurd and Josh Malone among many, many other highly-ranked players. Jones referred to this group as the foundation of the rebuilding project at UT.
