5. UT hires Donnie Tyndall, retools hoops roster
It took the Vols just one week to find Cuonzo Martin’s replacement, moving swiftly to hire Donnie Tyndall, who came to Knoxville with a 170-101 record as a head coach at Morehead State and Southern Mississippi. He lost all four of Martin’s signees and two returning underclassmen, but Tyndall hit the ground running, scooping up transfers, late signees and virtually anybody he could find to help Tennessee fill massive voids from the 2014-15 roster that would return just one key piece of its 2013-14 tournament team in guard Josh Richardson and lost approximately 80% of its production.
