10 Vols Who Can Benefit the Most From Bowl Practice

Joshua Dobbs-18. QB Joshua Dobbs

Sometimes we treat Dobbs like a seasoned veteran because he’s made some huge plays for Tennessee. But the reality is that, in terms of total starts (8), he hasn’t even played one full season and has a lot of work to do. That was somewhat evident during the Vanderbilt game, when, though he didn’t get a ton of help, Dobbs made several errant passes and didn’t look to have much rhythm. The coaches have harped on the need for him to be a more consistent practice player and Dobbs himself as said the same.

Few doubt his leadership, athleticism or his intelligence, and he’s shown the ability to win games, but if he’s going to take the next step to an All-SEC type of quarterback, which he has the potential to be, he’ll need to take some big strides this December to get some momentum heading into 2015.
