It was a big day for several in-state Vol commits at Tennessee’s Mr. Football Awards. In total, three Vol commits were named the state’s best players in their classifications. Vol offensive lineman commit Zach Stewart, an RTI 3.25-star prospect from Coalfield High School, won Class A lineman of the year for the second straight year, edging out Ole Miss commit Alex Givens. Stewart grew up dreaming of playing for the Vols and has been committed April 18th (2013) – he was the first 2015 prospect to commit to Tennessee.

Jack Jones, an RTI 4-star offensive lineman from Oakland High School, won Class AAA lineman of the year for the second consecutive year, beating out Tennessee commit Dylan Jackson of Maryville High School. Jones committed to Tennessee back in May of 2013 , just two days after receiving an offer from Butch Jones, and has remained solidly committed to the Vols despite receiving tons of interest from a host of the nation’s top programs.

Jauan Jennings, an RTI 4-star quarterback prospect from Blackman High School, won Class AAA back of the year over Georgia receiver commitment Van Jefferson. Jennings has seen his stock soar this season thanks to putting in a ton of work at the quarterback position.

Vol target and current Ole Miss commit Drew Richmond, an RTI 4.25-star offensive lineman prospect, won DII Class AA lineman of the year.
