Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason held his weekly press conference today and failed to say “Tennessee” – opting instead to refer to the Vols as the “team out East” according to multiple reports. The Commodores are 3-8 on the year and winless in the SEC. In fact, if Vanderbilt loses by double digits to the Vols this weekend, as many expect, they’ll be the first SEC team to lose every SEC game by double digits.
Those are some fightin’ words for the head coach of a team that just might go down as the worst in SEC history. Vanderbilt’s long snapper also had some not so complimentary words about Vol orange.
UPDATE: Butch Jones referenced Mason’s comments during practice. “It’s a beautiful day for the team from the East to practice,” Jones said during Tennessee’s Tuesday afternoon practice.
