7. Tennessee vs. Texas, Liberty Bowl (Memphis, Tenn.)
UT vs. UT. The Cecil Cherry Bowl. Label it however you want. It would be fun to see these two storied programs square off, even if it’s not in the most prestigious of environments. The Vols and Longhorns are both in rebuilding mode and seeing Joshua Dobbs and Tennessee’s revitalized offense go against Texas’ tough defense this year would be a good matchup to watch as well. Texas coach Charlie Strong was among Tennessee’s top candidates to replace Dooley as well before heading to Texas a year later. Tennessee vs. Texas would be fun to see in either the Liberty or Texas Bowl.
