3. Tennessee vs. Duke, Taxslayer Bowl (Jacksonville, Fla.)
This would be quite an intriguing matchup for the event formerly called the Gator Bowl. The connection is obvious. Duke head coach David Cutcliffe was the long-time offensive coordinator in Knoxville, spending two stints with the Vols, and putting together some of the most prolific offenses in school history. There was speculation that he might return to Knoxville after Lane Kiffin’s exit, but that never materialized. The Blue Devils are 8-2 right now and might end up in greener pastures than this bowl, but if the Vols reach 7-5 and Duke drops one or two the rest of the way, it could happen.
