Von Pearson is Back “100%”

Von Pearson-1-2When Tennessee receiver Von Pearson originally sprained his ankle against Arkansas State in Week Two, he officially returned to the field against Florida on Oct. 4th.

He was a small part of the offense that day and the Vols have been working him back in more and more every week. He had one catch against the Gators, two against UTC the next week and then averaged four catches for 20.3 yards over the course of the next three games.

His numbers (three catches for 44 yards) weren’t massive against Kentucky on Saturday, but on two impressive finishes for touchdowns, he showed that he’s finally back to 100% and ready to be a big part of Tennessee’s offensive game plan down the stretch.

“The bye week really helped him get back his health,” said coach Butch Jones. “He’s 100 percent and he adds a whole other element when he has the ball in his hands. His personality is very contagious on the field, on the sidelines and in the locker room, so it’s great to have him back.”

“I mean God works in mysterious ways,” Pearson added. “I know I hurt myself, but I know it’s going to be a great comeback, you know. So I’m not going to let it get to my head.”
