Florida vs No. 11 Georgia (-13) 3:30 pm CBS
Daniel: No Todd Gurley, no problem for Georgia. The Bulldogs have outscored Missouri and Arkansas by a combined total of 79-32 since Gurley’s suspension started, and many of those 32 points came in garbage time against the Razorbacks. So while the offense, led by running back Nick Chubb, who has done a great job in relief, is still clicking without its star, it’s also been the defense that has stepped up and improved since the beginning of the season. Florida is playing for any slim hope of Will Muschamp keeping his job, but Georgia is playing for an outside chance of getting back in the playoff discussion. Advantage to the Dawgs across the board. Winner: Georgia 27-10
Houston: Florida has to be done, right? No way they can make this a game, right? …Right? Call me crazy, but I think Florida hangs with Georgia for a few quarters in this game. Treon Harris looks like he will get the start for the Gators and that should at least good enough to give Georgia some looks that they haven’t seen before. Each team is coming off of a bye, which should favor the Gators considering all of the extra snaps they were able to get Harris and the fact that Georgia was absolutely rolling. I think this game comes down to the fourth quarter with Georgia using their balanced offense and strong defense to cement this one away late. Winner: UGA 27-17
Reed: No matter what happens in this game, Muschamp is done. He’ll make someone a very good defensive coordinator next season, but he’s just not been a good head coach at Florida and he’s proving that they should have fired him after the Georgia Southern loss last season (like UT should have done with Dooley after the Kentucky loss in 2011). On the other side, Georgia is playing good football. The Bulldog defense is really coming into its own under new DC Jeremy Pruitt. They’ve still got a shot to sneak into the college football playoff picture and they won’t let Florida derail that this weekend. Winner: Dawgs 31-10
Brad: Oh, look! They’re having a going away party for Will Muschamp in Jacksonville, and 50,000 Georgia fans were invited. Mark Richt must have lost control of the attendance list. Unfortunately, running back Todd Gurley will be signing autographs and still unable to attend, but he sends his best wishes. At this point, Gurley crashing the party would just be overkill. The hopeless, hapless Gators offense (How’d this team beat the Vols again???) doesn’t have a prayer against Jeremy Pruitt’s improving defense. This game is going to be one-sided from the get-go. These are two teams (and programs) heading in opposite directions. Muschamp has to know the end is nigh. It may come after this weekend. **Wondering aloud if he thinks coaching Apopka High School is a better job than Tennessee?** Winner: Georgia 38-13
