Quarterbacks
Daniel: Justin Worley didn’t get the job done. His third interception was on Josh Malone in many ways, but he still is the ultimate caretaker of the football, and he was too loose with it on Saturday. Not only did he throw three interceptions, he also had a fumble inside the 10 when he went down on a sack that was recovered by UT. Throw in Nathan Peterman’s fumble later in the game and the quarterbacks gave Ole Miss five chances to get the football. You won’t win many games ever like that, especially on the road against the No. 3 team in the nation. There’s a case for an F here, but I’ll go a little better because I thought Worley made a few nice throws when he had time, and, as always, he was playing under duress for much of the evening. Grade: D
Houston: I know that he is under pressure often, I know that he is limited from an ability standppoint and I know that he is the leader of an offense full of freshmen, but Justin Worley HAS to stop turning the football over. He went 19-for-31 for 191 yards against the Rebels, but he had zero touchdowns and threw three interceptions – twice when rolling out of the pocket when he forced passes into coverage along the sideline and one when he threw up a fly-ball that was picked off by Senquez Golson setting up Ole Miss’ second touchdown right before halftime. Against Oklahoma, Florida and Ole Miss, Juston Worley has combined for nine turnovers and only one touchdown. He doesn’t have to play perfect, but, as a senior quarterback, he needs to protect the football much better in big games than he has to this point Grade: D-
