No. 10 Georgia (-4) @ Arkansas TV: SEC Network 4 pm Saturday
Daniel: Arkansas was close last week. The Razorbacks had the ball in hand, needing just a field goal to pull off the massive upset over Alabama. They didn’t get it done. But they’ll get another chance at an upset this weekend when Georgia, which looks like it will be without Todd Gurley again this weekend, makes its second road trip in a row. I think this one will be a close contest. Freshman Nick Chubb isn’t Gurley, but he’s a tough runner and did a nice job at Missouri. If UGA’s defense carries the same intensity into this game as it did at Mizzou, I think the Bulldogs can get it done. Winner: Georgia 23-21
Houston: If Gurley plays, I like the dogs by a touchdown or so. If he doesn’t, I think the hogs finally get the win they’ve been looking for this season. Georgia looked surprisingly good last week against Missouri, but I think that may be more of a case of Missouri being terrible than Georgia suddenly figuring things out on offense and defense. Arkansas proved last week in a one 14-13 loss to Alabama that they have what it takes to play with the big boys in this league. The SEC West is incredibly strong this year, and Georgia going on the road into a very hostile environment against a team that is looking to turn the corner just spells bad news for the dogs. It doesn’t look like Gurley plays in this one, so I’ll take Big Ten Bret and the Razorbacks to get the W. Winner: Arky: 27-17
Reed: Well we all whiffed on Georgia last week. Turns out they may not need Gurley to win the SEC East. Gurley is back at practice but probably won’t play this weekend. Arkansas is coming off a heartbreaking one-point loss to Alabama. The Razorbacks haven’t won an SEC game in over two years but they’re clearly heading in the right direction. I still don’t believe in Georgia as a top-10 team but I do believe they’re the best team in the SEC East and will get the East’s lone win this season against the SEC West this weekend. Winner: Bulldogs 34-27
Kevin: I feel for UGA fans, I really do. They have always been fun to party with and they are forced to walk into each game having no idea what kind of team Mark Richt is putting on the field that day. With Todd Gurley likely sidelined by the Soviet Union of Sports, and Hutson Mason being spectacularly average thus far, I think UGA’s only hope resides in the possibility that Arkansas doesn’t have enough left in the tank to pull off the upset. I say Bret Bielema gets his first signature win, and Mark Richt inches closer to the hot seat. (Hint: He won’t get fired) Take Arkansas money line and the points. Winner: Arkansas 28-17
