Arkansas @ No.6 Texas A&M (-9) TV: CBS 3:30pm Saturday
Daniel: Not as many people are laughing at Bret Bielema this season. Sure, the Razorbacks have some work to do still, but their running game is no joke – averaging 324.5 yards per game. Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams are the real deal. Arkansas will score against an Aggies defense that looks improved, but still isn’t dominant. But speaking of scoring, that’s what Texas A&M does best – to the tune of an average of over 50 points per game. The Aggies might be a touch rusty after three gimme games, but nobody has been able to slow down Kenny Hill & Co. to date. Winner: Texas A&M 45-31
Houston: Ground and Pound vs. Air Raid in this one – should be exciting. Let me start off by saying that Arkansas has really impressed me so far this season under Bret Bielema. They aren’t flashy, they aren’t high-flying, but they will punch you in the mouth for four quarters and see if you can take it. Texas A&M looks like an offensive machine so far this year under new quarterback Kenny Hill and is averaging, get this, 405 passing yards per game in their first four games. A&M’s defense, although largely untested, has looked impressive to start the year as well. Arkansas will have some success on the ground and will try to keep the ball out of Kenny Hill’s hands as much as possible, but ultimately will prove too one dimensional to sneak out with a win. Texas A&M with the late cover on this one. Winner: Texas A&M 38-27
Reed: I’m just not buying the Arkansas hype this year. Yes, they’re improved. Yes, their rushing attack is for real. But their defense is still mediocre at best and it doesn’t stand a chance of slowing down an explosive Aggie offense. The Razorback rushing attack will keep them in this one (much like when they played Auburn), but an improved Aggie defense (which ranks second in the SEC in points allowed per game) will ensure their top-ranked passing offense gets the ball and puts up more points than the Razorbacks can muster. Winner: Texas A&M 41-28
Zac: The dark days of an 0-8 SEC season seem to be over for Arkansas. The Hogs kept things competitive for a half against Auburn on the road in the season opener then ripped through Texas Tech for 438 rushing yards. But Bret Bielema’s squad hasn’t shown it has the defense to hang with Kenny Hill and Texas A&M at home. The Aggies roll in this one. Winner: Texas A&M 42-21
