The Good, the Bad and the Ugly for the 2014 Vols

We did it. We are finally into single-digit days until the start of Tennessee’s 2014 season and the second year of the Butch Jones era. The Vols have been going at it on the practice field for a little over three weeks now, and with the conclusion of “training camp” on Monday the coaches and players have now entered into game week preparations and shifted their attention to the opener against Utah State next Sunday.

Over the last twenty-two days we have seen this team in multiple practices and game-like situations, we have seen the veterans and newcomers work to carve out roles, we have studied the roster and think we have a good feel of what the Vols are working with.

Each team has its strengths and weaknesses, and this team certainly has their fair share of both. Their level of success will be determined by their ability to limit mistakes, develop talent and mask shortcomings. In this article, we’ll be looking at the good, the bad, and the ugly for Team 118 as we prepare for the start of the 2014 season.
