Five Scheme Adjustments on Offense for 2014

Offensive Line

Use the zone read more in the run game

Again, this an area where Dobbs would give more flexibility, but Worley showed he can run it and get a few yards in situations last year. This does a few things for the offense. One, it gives the O-line one less defender to worry about since there’s a man left unblocked that the quarterback will read off of. Secondly, it gives the backs like Marlin Lane and Jalen Hurd a chance to get the edge and create a big play in the running game. It also allows the offensive line to work together in the zone blocking scheme as opposed to trying to win a ton of one-one-one matchups up front.
